This particular configuration comes equipped with a 16-inch, 2,560x1,600, 240Hz G-Sync-compatible display, Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX CPU, RTX 5080 16GB GPU, 32GB of RAM memory, and a 1TB SSD.

The Area-51: new color, curvy design, metal construction, and upgraded cooling

The Alienware Area-51 is a considerable upgrade compared to the older Alienware m16. For starters, it's clad in lid and bottom chassis are clad in anodized aluminum, with a unique iridescent finish that sparkles in direct lighting. Inside, it has a durable, lightweight magnesium alloy frame and upgraded cooling. Dell claims that it can quietly handle up to 240W TDP.

The Area 51 has a sleeker, more contoured shape compared to previous models, with rounded edges and soft corners replacing the traditional squared off design. The hinges are internally positioned so that they're near invisible. A transparent window on the undercarriage shows off its internals. There's also plenty of RGB lighting, most of which can be turned off if you don't like that sort of thing.

The RTX 5080 is more powerful than the previous generation's flagship RTX 4090

The RTX 5080 mobile GPU is roughly 15%-20% more powerful than the RTX 5070 Ti. Compared to previous generation GPUs, it's comparable to the RTX 4090 and pulls ahead in games that support DLSS 4.5, all while being more power efficient. You should be able to run any game out there at consistent 60+ fps framerates on the native 2.5K resolution, even the newest titles like Pragmata and Crimson Desert with little or no tweaking required.
