James Gunn's Supergirl may have only just hit theaters, but preorders for the physical 4K Blu-ray Limited Edition Steelbook are already live. You can reserve the movie now for $39.98 despite it not having a release date attached. Supergirl 4K Blu-ray Preorders Are Live

The Steelbook case features the titular Supergirl on the front portrayed by House of the Dragon's Milly Alcock, with Jason Momoa's impeccable Lobo on the back. When you open the case, you're met with a stunning scene of a space station from the movie. This physical edition comes with two discs; a copy of the movie on regular Blu-ray, and an enhanced 4K version. You'll also receive a special edition of Tom King's and Bilquis Evely's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow #1, the limited comic series the film is heavily inspired by. At the time of writing, details on included bonus features or director's commentaries are still minimal, but you can expect some amount of in-depth behind-the-scenes when this eventually drops.

In IGN's review of Supergirl, reviewer Clint Gage scored the film a six out of 10, saying "Supergirl borrows from the best, but Milly Alcock’s great take on Kara Zor-El gets lost in the spare parts from other movies used to assemble her story". This is the second film project of the new DCU spearheaded by James Gunn, a new take on DC Comics characters throughout movies, TV, and animation to form a cohesive universe similar to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is an award-winning eight-issue limited comic series penned by Tom King (Batman, The Vision), with art by Bilquis Evely (Wonder Woman). It follows a seasoned Kara Zor-El on her 21st birthday, at odds with her purpose on Earth as well as in life, when she meets a desperate and heartbroken child bent on revenge. Woman of Tomorrow is a space-faring roadtrip style story about unlikely allies and self discovery, and one of the best interpretations of the character.
